On 12th October 2018, we had a Twin mega jubilee celebration in Don Bosco Beatitudes. Our dear and beloved fathers Fr. Joy Pnackel sdb and Fr. Vincent Durai Raj sdb had celebrated the golden jubilee of their Ordinations. This long-awaited jubilee celebration had begun with a Holly Mass in the evening at 5.30pm. Fr. Don Bosco vice provincial of Chennai joined the Jubilarians in Celebrating the Holy Eucharist. Jubilarians and other priests were welcomed with Don Bosco Youth Centre band for the Holy Eucharist. The main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist was Fr. Joy Panackel sdb.
Once the Mass Was over, jubilarians, fathers and other special invitees were asked to gather in the Don Bosco Beatitudes ground for the felicitation. Felicitation was begun with a Prayer song organized by the parish. Then the vice-Rector of beatitudes Fr. Thomas sdb cordially welcomed all the special invitees and guests for the programme. After the welcome address, our primary school kids performed a dazzling dance with their own creative way. Followed by this dance Don Bosco Hr. Sec. Scholl staff presented the address to the Fr. Joy Panackel sdb. this felicitation moved ahead with an another Tamil cultural dance by Higher Secondary School students. After this dance our jubilarian Fr. Vincent Durai Raj sdb thanked the gathering for their support and valuable presence to this precious occasion of the golden jubilee of his Priestly Ordination. After his speech Don Bosco Hr. Sec. Scholl staff presented the address to the Fr. Vincent Durai Raj sdb After this dance Fr. Joy Panackel sdb the jubilarian talked for a while, in his speech he praised and thanked God for this Religious call especially to the Salesian life, Then he thanked his parents, relatives, all the provincials and confreres of Chennai Province who played a vital role in pushing him forward in his priestly life, Then the boarders stepped on to the stage with an incredible dance which really attracted everybody’s attention.
At the end of the programme, our DBYC band group gave a band piece, to wish our jubilarians all the best for their future work. During the programmes sister of Fr. Joy sdb and two other Salesians spoke about the jubilarians and thanked them for the meticulous and dedicated service that they have contributed for the growth and for the welfare of the province. At the end of programme fathers, sisters and other special invitees came up to the stage to wish and all the best to the jubilarians with the gifts and mementos. After honouring the jubilarians Fr. Felix sdb Director of DBYC thanked the gathering for their valuable presence and support. This felicitation came to an end at 9.00 pm. After this sumptuous dinner was served to all the guests. Saplings were given at the as a memento to all the guests.
We wholeheartedly thank Fr. Thomas sdb the vice rector of the Beatitudes community for coordinating this jubilee and for his continuous assistance. Then we thank the administrator for all the arrangements and providing all the necessary things. In addition, we also thank all the Salesians and other religious congregations who joined us and helped us with the successful celebration of this mega event
