The Don Bosco Beatitudes Centre is helping the poorest of the poors : children, adults and Senior citizens, regardless of caste, creed, religion or sex.

The Sisters of Maria Auxiliatrix take care of these aged people. Two centres that welcome Senior citizens are open in the north of Chennai: Saint Thomas Home for the Destitute Aged and Rua day care centre and Shelter home for the urban aged.

Saint Thomas Home for the Destitute Aged is an old aged home where about 80 people live : they have no children and no relatives, they where abandoned on the street.

Rua day care centre, as says its name is a place that welcomes around 17 old people during the day: from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. In this old aged home of Chennai, Senior citizens get to eat meals, to enjoy snacks and to drink. They can take a bath, wash their clothes and also get medical help, physiotherapy …

Prayer is in the heart of Saint Thomas Home for the Destitute Aged and of the Rua day care centre.
